It's fair to say it's too expensive. But here's a question worth asking first: Are you actually using what you pay for? A stale website can be compared to having a fancy car parked in the driveway, not doing anything, not going anywhere. It's the same with your website: it can't go far if it's not being used right.
Let''s begin with a look at how socials tie in. It's great, free and quick right? But what happens after you post? Do they read and scroll on, or do you have something that makes them CLICK A LINK to your website?
Look at the change a few steps can make:
Go from: “Here's what we saw this week” >> to:
"Here's how we tied in (an item) into our latest project - click for the article!"
Turn it into a blog post or page article about a project and how that piece you bought ties in. Bonus points if you include a Call to Action to get them to enquire.
Or: “Here's a photo of our new product!” >> to:
“Check out the new range of products we're stocking and order online today!”
Include link to your website page or product store page. Where are you showing the value of what you offer? Your expertise on the tools or in your service area should be evident. Eg: Showing a cushion is cute, but what does it do for your business or how do your skills use it? Styling / photoshoots / product purchases etc!
Social media gets attention for a short term, but your website gives that attention somewhere to go and holds it. It turns it into a lead or sale. You want to give people a reason to get onto your website at every opportunity you can.
Check under the hood to ensure things are up to date:
Is my info correct (projects / contacts/ links/ latest services/ products)
Have I sent anyone there recently?
Does it accurately tell people why they need me?
Are my photos recent?
Make a social post and drive traffic to your website!
> Check your website dashboard the next day or two and if
you can see a traffic spike after social posts, it's working.
Take 5 mins, have a look - pretend you're a visitor. If there's something that needs fixing, photos to add or swap out, jump on to fixing it up, or reach out for help.
I want to get you thinking, using, and looking objectively at your website and ensuring the basics are up to date before you post on socials!!
