Signe approached me to design her wedding invites and stationery with a vision for her big day with Dan - a relaxed, casual beachy affair, with rustic and handmade touches. It was decided that brown Kraft card would be the perfect medium for the invites and envelopes, setting the theme early.
I designed a custom logo based on two shells, interlocking them in the design to represent their love together. Complimented with handrawn lettering and a breezy typeface, little handdrawn elements pulled the tri-fold invitation design together. Signe finished the invites by hand, with a piece of twine and shells that "tied the knot" as you opened the invite. An RSVP return postcard was included with the invitation for guests to post back.
Signe and Daniel needed a few extra things to finish the wedding off just right - table numbers, menu cards that doubled as a wrap around cutlery and napkins and a great conversation starter - placemats with pencils for the guests to write tips, jokes, advice and any other comments! The placemats had questions and stater points, with little handdrawn elements to spur the guest's creativity on.
Signe and Dan put together a beautiful wedding, with so many simple yet effective details. It was a pleasure working with them, and as Signe often commented, "It's like you're inside my head! It's perfect!"
All location event photographs are taken by the wonderful wedding photographer, Danelle Bohane. Invitation and stationery design closeups shown are taken by myself.
Signe and Dan's wedding was featured in Hello May Magazine, Issue 08, (cover by Mitch Pohl) and also features my design work in their editorial piece.
