A wee bit about me
I'm a designer with clients dabbled around the globe, and currently working for a small agency, Hanson Creative. Based in the mighty Waikato of New Zealand, I've had a few great projects close to home. I specialise in graphic design for print based media, as well as website design. Given the opportunity I will jump at the chance to work on wedding projects and other creative projects, as these are exciting and lead to some awesome results.
My career so far has been awesome. I've had a chance at working with so many small and large companies and talented people. I like the challenge of pushing a design past its boundaries to create functional and effective communication. Working on a project from concept through to development and onto a finished result has quite a satisfying effect. I always keep guidelines, readability and usability in mind, as these serve to form the basis of any design. I'm often being praised for producing a "bang-on" design; being efficient and thorough and having a keen eye for detail.
A few years of experience
I've studied at the University of Waikato and gained a handy degree - a Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design. Better yet, it is conjointly awarded with Whanganui School of Design.
I started working as an in-house graphic designer, where I kept busy designing branding and collateral for startup companies. I soon discovered a great little job at a small agency in Cambridge, Hanson Creative and over the last four years, building up skills, knowledge and developing my passion for design even further. Along the way, I've picked up a few side projects helping out small companies and friends and family.
Creativity is just an extension
As someone who is passionate about design and everything creative, I am never too far away from doing something exciting. In my time outside of work, I like to help out some close friends at Indiefilm with a wee bit photography and even music videos amongst a handful of other things. Sometimes you do need a break away from the screen, and in my spare time I like to play the drums, whip up dairy-free baking and also go for long runs. The fresh air can really work wonders!
